The Bathurst winning car was driven by Bathurst regular Bob Morris, who in 1976 had an Englishman, John Fitzpatrick as the co-driver. It was Fitzpatrick who had the last stint when with four laps to go the Torana started blowing smoke from a broken gearbox seal that was leaking oil onto the clutch, the rear axle was pretty much gone too, but the talented Englishman nursed the ailing L34 to the top of Skyline on the last lap and was able to make the finish line giving an incredible victory in one of the toughest races in the world.
A feature of our 1:43 models is the opening bonnet. The engine bay interior uses many colours and finishes to make this small scale engine look just as good as our 1:18 models.
