Ask anyone which cars they remember most from the early 80's Group C touring car racing and surely near the top of the list will be the 1984 Holden Dealer Team VK Commodores in their dayglo red/orange and white colour scheme. Biante has inspected and measured the car from Peter Champion's collection ... VK #05 has had a total nut and bolt restoration, with most of the work carried out by the people who actually built the car in 1984. To go along with the extremely high standard of detail and workmanship in this new model, our box packaging has also been stepped up a grade with opening lid and team drivers podium presentation photo as they appeared at Bathurst in 1984. A 1:8 scale replica of the actual Scott Aspen helmet that Peter Brock wore is also included, attached to the base plate.

The 1984 James Hardie 1000 at Mount Panorama is text in the annals of Australian motor racing folklore. The 1984 race was the last event before a new set of international rules were adopted. It was the end of an era. The last of the Big Bangers.

With that in mind, Peter Brock and the Holden Dealer Team made the event their own - capping off a hat-trick of wins for 'Peter Perfect' and then co-driver Larry Perkins, setting the race record and delivering a crushing 1 - 2 finish to their rivals.
