Shane van Gisbergen and Alex Davison in car #9 qualified in 6th in the Top Ten Shootout and started very well.
A potential podium for SBR was spoiled when halfway through the race while sitting 5th in wet conditions, James Courtney made
contact, damaging the right rear hub.

Rising engine temperatures then hampered the already wounded #9 car, but van Gisbergen and Davison maintained their composure
and managed to finish the race in 13th position.
