Retired five-times Bathurst winner Mark Skaife returned for the 2009 V8 enduros with four-times winner Greg Murphy
to drive the Sprint Gas Racing VE Commodore #51.
The highly credentialed drivers have experienced success at Mount Panorama on nine occasions between them and were on course to win Bathurst,
but a safety car with 21 laps to go ruined what would have been a dream result.
