Always one to take it to the factory teams as a privateer, Allan Grice was in his element
in the mid - 1980s asGroup A touring car racing continued to rise in popularity
worldwide.

For round two of the ETCC Grice qualified the VK Commodore in a
"headline grabbing" third position, just behind the pole-sitting Volvo turbo of
Johnny Cecotto and Jean-Louis Schlesser's TWR/Bastos Rover.
